Terms of Use

What follows governs both your use of this website and the repair work Astre Appliance Service carries out.

The purpose of these pages

Everything published here describes appliance repair offered across Bergen County, New Jersey. It is written as background, not as a repair manual. Domestic appliances combine mains voltage, gas supply and refrigerant held under pressure, and anyone attempting to work on one without training and instruments is taking a genuine risk.

Manufacturer names

Brand names, logos and model designations appearing on this site are owned by the manufacturers concerned and are reproduced solely so visitors can locate the right page. Astre Appliance Service trades independently. It holds no authorization from any manufacturer named here and has no commercial relationship with any of them.

The work we undertake

Domestic kitchen and laundry appliances: refrigerators, freezers, ovens, ranges, cooktops, dishwashers, washers, dryers, ice machines, wine coolers, coffee machines and trash compactors. Cooling systems for the building, heating plant and ductwork fall outside what we do and we decline that work rather than attempt it.

Quotations

Every figure we give is a fixed one, arrived at after the appliance has been tested. Dismantling begins only once you have accepted it. Should something further come to light after work has started, the job stops there and your agreement is sought before it resumes.

The guarantee

Our workmanship is guaranteed for 30 days from completion. Spares we install carry whatever warranty their manufacturer provides. The guarantee attaches to the specific repair performed and the specific spare installed. It does not reach unrelated failures, damage arising from misuse or from someone else opening the appliance afterwards, or machines already past economical repair that were worked on at your request.

Access and safety

Testing requires safe access to the appliance and a live power or gas supply. Where an installation is dangerous, a crushed or shared dryer duct being the common example, we will say so and may decline to put the machine back into service until it has been corrected.

Liability

Our liability extends to the value of the work performed. Nothing written here removes any right you hold under New Jersey consumer law.

Applicable law

These terms fall under the law of the State of New Jersey.
